I believe that the status quo should continue whereby the Province retains control and maintenance responsibilities of all beach areas in Wasaga Beach. The Town does not do a good job of maintaining the properties that it does control. Putting the responsibility of maintenance on the Town will result in poorer conditions, not better and will place an even further burden on our tax base. Our tax base is 90% residential and we cannot afford further tax increases. We have experience tax increases of greater than 21% over the last 3 years well above inflation.
If the Town takes over these properties, they will surely be developed and we will lose the pristine parkland that we all enjoy now.
Please reconsider this proposal.
