Wasaga Beach has been in…

Wasaga Beach has been in rough condition for the last decade and a half. while the wheel of fate has rotated, we reached a natural crux in development just before the last of the wake stocks and the start of the decline can be seen with the fire of the arcade. Nancy Island is disturbingly under cared for. As a home-school mom who was excited to take my son there last year I was devastated when the staff had zero actual knowledge about the subjects they were presenting and could not even describe the locations of the communities they were asked about. the landscaping and general maintenance was deplorable and the historical artefacts left to moult and rust into oblivion in the picnic area was disturbing at the lack of care. when asked if they needed volunteers or support to help keep it safe (as the walkway too and from the island is occasionally not safe, and despite clearly being designed like a fort is inauthentic and now left to disarray) they declined stating they were not permitted to let anyone help on the property due to ontario parks rules.

also, the parks behind my house are year round home to junkies who love to leave needles for my dogs and children to find and fight with my husband and sexualize and harass my teenage daughter. when we ask the town, they explain its provincial park and they are not allowed to patrol it themselves. if the province won't protect the conservation or residents, then please please let the mayor do so.
