I strongly oppose the proposed changes to the permitting process. Freshwater is an increasingly precious resource, and overdrawing limits its ability to renew itself. The proposed changes to the permitting process would violate the rights of Indigenous communities and local residents and would eliminate important environmental reassessments that are vital in our rapidly changing climate. We shouldn't be selling bottled water (at a pittance!) at all, and certainly should not be making it easier for big corporations to exploit resources necessary to sustain life.
