To whom it may concern,
I would like to have on record my support of this proposal, particularly as it relates to the amendment to recognize rock climbing as a recreational activity within Devil's Glen. Rock climbing provides not only an excellent opportunity to recreate in nature, but also allows people to connect with the environment and teach important lessons about stuardship of our natural spaces. It gives people a different perspective to how we can interact with our environment and emphasizes the importance of preserving these spaces, not just for future generations to enjoy but also in protection of the native ecosystems. Speaking from experience, climbers understand, just like all groups who recreat in these spaces, that without the conservation of these spaces there is no recreational opportunities and it is important that the environment be protected first and foremost. Being a rock climber I am excited be this proposal as it present an opportunity for the community to be a stuard of the land and protect it for years to come while also engaging with the environment recreationally or in other meaningful ways. Thank you for this opportunity, it means a great deal to the climbing community.
