This is a great step forward for Ontario Parks conservation and recreation. The inclusion of rock climbing as a permitted activity will allow people to experience this fantastic park in a sustainable way into the future. Thank you Ontario Parks!

I agree with the enlarged boundaries and the classification change from recreation to natural environment. An area designated ANSI with the specialized vegetative growth areas, along with significant bird breeding , old growth cedar sites and bat roosts, deserves the best protection it can get! Read more

Please protect this land and continue to keep it under the provincial park. Do not develop this land. It’s important to keep it undeveloped for the animals of the area. The habitat of many birds, and other animals in the area depend on this land for their habitat.

As a climber who frequents Devils glen, I think adding the additional 18 hectares of land to the provincial park is a great improvement. I also think making climbing officially recognized by Ontario parks is a great step for both the climbing community and Ontario parks. Read more

Climbing has been and will continue to occur at DG, and the best thing that Ontario can do is recognize it, and come up with a plan for managing it. This can help reduce environmental impact on the following ways: Read more

Please keep climbing at Devils Glen. It is an important sport that gets people outside hiking and being active. A wonderful community has sprung up around climbing in Ontario and they care for all the parks, crags and forests deeply.

I support including rock climbing as a permitted recreational activity in Devil’s Glen. In my experience the vast majority of rock climbers treat the land with respect and will help to preserve the natural environment so they can continue to enjoy it.
