Biodiversity is vital to life on Earth. Piping plovers are part of this world and should remain here with us. If Wasaga beach changes ownership (which I strongly hope it does not) the city should ensure these beautiful birds can continue to flourish by protecting their beach habitat, ensure funding for protecting nests and educating visitors, and consult with local bird experts to ensure their needs continue to be met. Wasaga beach is one of the most important nesting habitat for Piping Plover and it needs to remain that way.
