Dear Friends,
I live within one block of the proposed Jamesville Development in Hamilton.
I am categorically against the proposal which has been sent to the Ministry by the City of Hamilton which proposes a higher population density and a 20, rather than a 12, story tall high-rise.
I support the original 2022 plan, which was approved by Hamilton city council, which envisions a 447-unit, mixed-income community with building heights of three and seven storeys.
My position is based upon two main factors. One, no consultation with community and neighbourhood stakeholders was held in regard to the revised plan. Secondly, the increased density of the revised plan will play havoc with our neighbourhood, especially (but not only) in regard to parking and traffic.
For these (and other related) reasons I am categorically opposed to the approval of the revised Jamesville development plan, and fully support the original 2022 plan.
