I am against the transferring the control of Nancy Island from the MECP to the MTCG. I would like to see the park remain in conservation. I can only assume transferring the island will allow for its development into god knows what development scheme.

I am vehemently against the removal of any land from Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. This Park is intended for public use and conservation, and should remain as such. Beach Areas 1, 2, New Wasaga and Allenwood Beach should remain crown land within Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. We should not be handing over our public land, especially conservation land, to private investment and development interests. If the opportunity for investment was so good in Wasaga, developers and investors should not need our public land to make it happen, there surely are other options. I do not trust the land to care for the areas or endangered species within these areas as well as trained Provincial Park staff.

I am also vehemently against the amendments in the PPCRA needed to make this happen. I am extremely worried that these amendments will make it easier to sell off Provincial Park land in the future, which would be an anti-public and shameful act.

If Wasaga Beach is in need of revitalization, it is from years of allowing far too much car-dependent, sprawling infrastructure. We have known for years that building sprawl and car-dependent places is hard on downtown cores. We can revitalize Wasaga through better planning practice, not through signing away our Provincial Park.
