This comment is with respect to Sec. 6.1 of the plan regarding planned expansion of the current parking lot, as well as Sec. 12 identifying this component as a long term priority.
As the road authority responsible for Simcoe County Road 124 adjacent to this Park, we have received numerous complaints regarding parking along the road side to access this park. Our staff have also witnessed this concern, particularly in the off season, when winter maintenance of the roadway is challenging enough.
Road side parking is intermittent but can cause significant safety concerns with respect to sightlines and traffic movement along this busy County Road.
Additional parking for this facility would certainly be welcome and should be moved up to a higher priority.
