I think that our lakes are surviving but not exactly thriving. I personally think that the double crested cormorant is a large part of it. I would vote for open season on them, but I believe there should bag limits. As for the size of the bag limits I can’t really speculate on what would be appropriate. I think that the retrieval and removal is not necessary either, let the fish feed of the dead carcasses that fall in the water, return some food back that these birds are so good at eating.
