I would like to express my strong opposition to the proposal to establish a hunting season on the Double-crested Cormorant - a bird that can't even be eaten! I became a Canadian 50 years ago and have watched the alarming decline of song birds and other species of birds in Canada over that period. No matter how prolific a bird may be, I strongly believe all birds should be protected and more should be done to protect their habitats.
