Stop removing species from the list. We should not be doing worse than the federal government, we should be doing better.
Don’t reclassify the threat level to species! Just because a species can survive outside of Ontario, does not mean we don’t need them in Ontario. Also, if they are destroyed in Ontario, it affects the population in other provinces. Animals don’t know boarders.
Keep the definition of habitat aligned with the federal definition so an at risk species’ habitat is still protected.
Listing a classified at risk species should continue to be mandatory. We need to take action to protect these species.
Having all regulations as discretionary, means that none of the regulations has any credibility. Strengthen your wording so regulations are strong, not discretionary, and actionable.
