I’m writing to share my strong support for expanding Ontario’s protected areas through this proposal. It’s wonderful to see the province moving forward with tangible action like this to conserve land, protect wildlife, and make sure people can continue to enjoy nature responsibly.
Adding this enormous number of acres of new protected areas is huge. These areas will help safeguard ecosystems, provide places for recreation, and keep parts of the province wild for future generations. I’m also glad to see the inclusion of lands that were already acquired or identified through Ontario’s Living Legacy process, which shows a thoughtful use of past planning work.
