Hi,
I would like to address the proposal for the Boyne Valley Provincial Park.
While it is nice to see the park being expanded, I believe that the proposal to designate the whole park as a hunting zone is a huge mistake and an endangerment to the public. The current Boyne Valley sees thousands of people, both local and from afar, walking it's trails every year. It is a very popular park for local residents and is surrounded by many residential properties.
While the number of hunting accidents hovers somewhere between 90 and 100 per year, with a mortality rate of approximately 11 per year, in Ontario. I would like to know why you would put people in danger and potentially increase the rates. I would much rather not expand the park, then put people in danger. Currently, everything is fine as it is, from this point of view, so please provide me with a reason you would want to do this and a study as how you are going to protect people and residents from being endangered and potentially harmed, if not killed.
I am sorry if this seems direct, but it seems to me that this part of the proposal is extremely short sighted.
