On behalf of the 5000 plus members of the Northwestern Ontario Sportsmen's Alliance (NOSA) I wish to give our support for this proposal for the purpose of allowing a limited hunting season for cormorants in Ontario. We have believed for decades that this hunting opportunity should be afforded to control their population levels where this can be done. Here in northern Ontario we've witnessed the ravage of our sport fisheries on many of our once productive fisheries. Cormorants are capable of devouring several times their own body weight in fish every day and they do. A limited hunting season will help control their numbers while not affecting sustainability of their species.
Thank you for this opportunity to comment.
