I am a citizen who lives and works in downtown Toronto. I use all forms of transportation, such as public transit, cycling, and driving. I am strongly opposed to this proposed bill, which won't actually solve our transportation needs.
For a city this size, we need to focus on expanding and improving public transit in order for everyone to be able to commute in a timely, reliable, and affordable manner. Cities such as Seoul, Tokyo, New York city, London, and Paris are just a few examples of large metropolitan cities with excellent public transit options.
As a cyclist, getting rid of bike lanes will not improve traffic for motor vehicles. This will only endanger cyclists.
