While many countries are expanding their cycling infrastructure to promote healthier lifestyles and safer transportation options, Ontario appears to be moving in the opposite direction. Reducing or neglecting bike lane development not only discourages active living but also places cyclists at greater risk by forcing them to share the road with vehicles. This approach undermines public safety and contradicts the province’s stated commitment to supporting sustainable, people-focused transportation.
