Please add an amendment to this Bill that states clearly that the 42 species of migratory birds and fish no longer protected in Ontario will be covered under the federal government's Species at Risk Act, the Migratory Bird Act and the Fisheries Act.
The other 64 species categorized as 'species of concern' should remain protected under Ontario Reg. 230/08 Species at Risk in Ontario List.
The proposed regulations as written are unclear. They do not state plainly what development activities require registration, what activities require permits and what activities are exempted. There is no mention of oversight or enforcement. Without this information it is impossible to comment. Detailed information must be given and a new ERO issued in order to respond appropriately.
