This is the worst proposal I have ever seen. ERO notice 019-9266 indicates that bike lanes have no negative impact on congestion, are an important safety tool for all road users, are a local issue that Queens Park needs to back off from, environmental helpful as cycling is zero-emission transit (which helps local air quality and greenhouse gas emission reduction), consistent with evidence-based decision making, promote human health, have a positive economic impact, support transportation affordability and equity. The Premier said bike lanes made him fell safer in a now deleted TVO program, back in 2017. Clearly you don't care about any of that anymore, if you ever did, or else you won't just suggest taking out bike lanes, while offering not other measure to keep people healthy or safe or reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation. You should know people will die and the planet will burn more because of this proposal.

We know that fewer bikes means more motor vehicles, which will be stuck behind the bicycles who will remain in the shared vehicles lanes. This will increase gridlock since motor vehicles will be stuck behind bicycles, or it will increase gridlock when those motor vehicles make unsafe passes on the bikes and cause an accident.

So I'm going to focus on another area, that maybe you care a little more about. You will turn entire communities against the government. Whenever the next election is called, bike owners and other people in Ontario who ride bikes will remember how you banned their municipality from keeping them safe. The shop owners and workers who lose customers, because they no longer feel like risking their lives to get there, will remember this at the next election. The families and communities of the people who die because of this proposal will remember this when they vote at the next election. So, there are many reasons not to move forward with this proposal. Do not move forward with this awful proposal.
