Hi,
I've been biking for a number of years and if a network of routes are being proposed, they should have bike lanes on them. If not, ensure cyclist follow the rules of the road, such as not biking down the centre line when traffic is backup in their direction, ride single file to as not to create unsafe situations. If riding on a road/highway they should be adhering to the rules of the road just like a motor vehicle.
I bike off road and on paved/gravel roads, but I see a number of times road cyclists creating situations which are unsafe. If bike lanes aren't available, they should look at alternative routes.
Thanks,
John
