As a resident of Thunder Bay, Ontario, I am highly concerned and strongly opposed to the Province’s proposal to amalgamate the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority (LRCA) with six Southern Ontario conservation authorities to create the “Huron–Superior Regional Conservation Authority.” I support the LRCA’s recommendation that it remain independent by establishing a stand-alone body called the “Northwestern Ontario Regional Conservation Authority.” In doing so, this will suppor the unique needs of the watersheds in Northern Ontario.
