As a Public Health professional, who's work focuses on land-use planning, and who understands the impacts of natural and built environments on individual and population health, I agree with the Hamilton Conservation Authority in NOT supporting this merger. Not only has the province failed to present any evidence that the merger would have any positive benefits, the province also appears to have no understanding of the eco and water systems for which they have drawn up illogical borders. It is blatant that this proposed merger has nothing to do with efficiency or conservation, and everything to do with the provincial government wanting the authority to sell off land for development.
