I do not support the Ontario Government's proposal to regionally consolidate Ontario's Conservation Authorities.
In my opinion this in nothing more then another move by the current conservative government to remove more systems that are in place to protect nature and support biodiversity.
The current conservative government has already gutted protections for species at risk. This decision to further reduce the capacity for Conservation Authorities to manage their watersheds for their local population will further erodes checks and balances that protect nature and human well being. If this proposal is accepted I expect all the people of Ontario will notice is more suburban sprawl, increased flooding/water quality issues, less maintenance in our natural spaces, and an increasing rate of local biodiversity loss.
This does nothing for the greater good for the people of Ontario, it will only harm us.
