I am a resident of the Hamilton Conservation Authority watershed and I am writing about ERO #025-1257. I agree with the submission made by the Hamilton Conservation Authority and do not support the proposed merger into a larger regional conservation authority. I am concerned that this restructuring would weaken local decision-making, dilute the voice of Hamilton and Puslinch taxpayers who fund a significant portion of HCA’s work, add costly administrative complexity without evidence of real benefits, and undermine long-standing local partnerships that make conservation effective in our community. I urge the Province to keep conservation decisions rooted in local watershed-based authorities and instead improve the current system through clear provincial standards, shared technology, and stable provincial funding.
