Conservation Authorities Were Created “For the People, By the People"
My property falls within the South Nation Conservancy jurisdiction. Through them I have forested 20 acres of retired farmland and continue to be supported by them as a local resource for information.
I am 100% against the amalgamation. I do not want to see this resource diluted and rendered useless by Provincial interference and weak and ignorant oversight. LEAVE IT ALONE. Despite the total lack of mandated provincial funding and all sorts of headwinds at the Federal level as well (funding abolished for planting forests nationwide), the Conservancy and their dedicated staff continue to provide much valued services.
