First, I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. For one, I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. I also think HCA is doing a great job and has for Hamilton and its conservation efforts, watershed and land management. I do not believe the proposal has enough safeguards to ensure that in regional amalgamation the needs of local communities & local conservation efforts won’t be lost. I have also lost confidence in province managing this transition well after the sell of greenbelt areas that turned to be fraudulent. I do not support this proposal and believe it also overrides municipal jurisdiction and will see mismanagement of our taxes and needs.
