I am very concerned that the proposed legislation will allow development companies to destroy sensitive heritage important to the cultural weave of Ontario.
It allows companies who care nothing for the integrity or character of Ontario municipalities to bypass municipal plans, and bypass legislation protecting Ontario heritage. It is dangerous to hand so much power to unelected business people, and the government risks losing the heritage character of our province.
How can this government call themselves conservative if they are clearly uninterested in conserving anything?
