Locally based decision…

Locally based decision-making and accountability is important for Conservation. The reason for this amalgamation has not been justified. No one can maintain, protect and appreciate our conservation areas, parks, waterways and trails better than the people who actually live there. The creation of less localized authorities would only make responses to local issues worse. This will lead to less oversight and open the door for neglect and corruption, and the eventual elimination of protected lands altogether. Unless, of course, that is the ultimate goal. Can't wait to take a lovely hike through the The Tim Horton's Shoppers Drug Mart Conservation Area and Condo Development. Great idea, Doug.
