I have felt the need for cycling lanes for years in my community, we have small roads and horrible drivers that try and drive bikers off the road, I personally was hit two years ago by a girl texting and driving while clearly and inexperienced driver, it almost took my life yet here I am. Healing has been a challenge but I am getting their just wish our city would actually encourage the reality that we do need bike lanes because then drivers will respect us more and we will have our own space to feel safe while on the road. Biking is very convenient and many do it for many reasons. So why not give the cyclists what they need and want most
