In Sault Ste Marie we have amazing local conservation areas with local leadership and guidance. We can not amalgamate with a much larger area and lose the local expertise and partnerships that have made the Sault Ste Marie conservation authority such a vital part of our community. Local stewardship has made these areas what they are today: an easily accessible area for the residents of Sault Ste Marie and surrounding areas, and a growing part of our tourism initiatives.
