Hello, I have lived in Oakville for over 35 years. During this time our city has grown immensly. The growth has been planned and maintained a somewhat balanced ratio between services, traffic flow and accessbility and liveability. I say somehwat because it has become quite busy and congested here now. During the past few years Oakville has grown even more and we have done more than our fair share to meet the demands of population growth. However we are deeply concerned with the absolute explosive growth being quite fankly imposed on Mid Town Oakville specifically. The TOC Distrik plans lay out a frame work and development plan that will in fact destroy our city our vibrancce and quality of life. Our new hospital built a decade ago which replaced the old midtown hospital, is at/beyond patient capacity. OMTH was recently featured in a CBC news release about a death due to excessive wait times. Now the Province wants to blow this up even more with the ridiculous Mid Town TOC plan. To be very clear Oakville and Halton residents don't want this! Instead the Town of Oakville has proposed a carefully thought out OPC which is realistic in its growth yet provides for ample housing as required due to regional population demands. We also propose housing that gets away from single tiny compressed high density units to more liveable units where residents can actually raise a family or at least have some personal space. I emplore the government to carefully review these plans and choose the OPC as as the TOC development project.
