Hello. I've been an Oakville resident since 2008. In the last 17 years I've watched as numerous residential developments have been pushed through everywhere within Oakville's boundaries. Particularly around Bronte Creek Provincial Park, all along Dundas Street, and north along Trafalgar between Upper Middle Road and Britannia Road. Residential development in Oakville is already out of control. Many of the new homes, condos, and townhouses being built are not even occupied - yet the building continues.

I've lived in the Kerr Village area since 2013. Two condominiums have already been built next door to the building I live in (Rain/Senses complex), another townhouse condo complex (Gemini condos) is being built to the north along Shepherd Road, and there's a proposal to tear down an apartment building across the road on Speers to build another high-rise with at least 300 units.

There is already a serious traffic congestion issue in the area - from Trafalgar Road in the east to Dorval Drive in the west - to Cross Avenue/Speers Road to the south, and to Upper Middle Road to the north - particularly during the morning and evening rush hours. Public transit isn't always an option for everyone - especially considering Metrolinx GO Train service isn't always on time, and there are NOT enough trains running during the periods when people are going to and coming home from work. I have often experienced GO trains overcrowded to the point of no seat being available. In addition, commuters who have to take the TTC are in for another serious issue with their delays, not enough subway cars running, and overcrowded subway platforms.

The last thing Oakville needs is an 11 tower development of 45-59 storeys on a relatively small space of land (4.9 hectares) across the road from the Oakville GO Station. Metrolinx GO Train service cannot handle this, and neither can the roads. It's my understanding that the Province is proposing to use Minister’s Zoning Orders (MZOs) to implement the Transit-Oriented Community (TOC) planned for Midtown Oakville. It's also my understanding that these MZOs do not expire. They remain in force regardless of future governments, market conditions, or better planning alternatives.

This is not acceptable. Please DO NOT go through with this! I am 100% opposed. Thank you for your time and consideration.
