I would like to provide feedback on point 7) Increase Ontario based recycling.
The minimum targets for materials recycling should be as close to 100% as possible based on an EXTERNAL academic evaluation of what is a practical target. Industry MUST BE CHALLENGED to reach stretch goals beyond what they may claim are possible. Private industry in Ontario/Canada is know to innovate only when challenged to, largely explaining Ontario/Canada's low productivity compared to other G7 jurisdictions. It is incumbent on the Ontario Government to lead industry in this regard for the benefit of all citizens, not just economically, but environmentally, meaning a better overall quality of life for future generations.
