While I support the goal of accelerating housing supply, I am concerned that Bill 98's removal of municipal authority over 'sustainable design' and 'enhanced development standards' creates significant long-term liabilities. Green standards are not merely 'high-cost' additions but are foundational to community resilience—mitigating stormwater risks and reducing energy costs for future residents. I urge the government to maintain the ability of municipalities to implement standards that protect public health and long-term fiscal sustainability.
