Since you are looking for feedback here is mine! I think your proposal to use part of the Airport Parkway in Ottawa Ontario is a bit short sighted and dangerous. Yes there is the occasional cyclist on that route, but it is mostly a single lane road with shoulders that would need to be enhanced in order to accommodate the type of cycle track required (even if it were just paint). If you take a look at the area more closely you will see that the Sawmill creek bike path runs parallel to your proposed route up to Huntclub and would be must safer for the Brookfield / Huntclub segment of your proposed route. It would be great for the City to get on board with this but money would be better spent on extending the Osgoode trail north from Leitrim to Lester and then connecting Leitrim to Huntclub on the bed of the railroad track that this there or adjacent to it. If there are not funds to do this, then alternate would be to use the Airport Parkway, or divert to Albion to Lester where wider shoulders exist. Though I like my recommendation more. At some point the Ottawa LRT will extend from Hunt Club to Airport and then to Leitrim so any path that is put in could be put in parallel with that line (as it will take over the existing abandoned track). This also opens up opportunities for adjacent communities of Bridlewood / Emerald woods to use the trails. The Sawmill creek bike path already opens up access to subdivisions North of Hunt Club.
Just my two cents on this! As someone who cycles those routes and commutes by car through those areas. Great work BTW. Would love for this to come to fruition.
