To rely on third party verification of emissions reports to those reporters that may have compliance obligations under the Emissions Performance Standards program is CARELESS and NAIVE.
YES, Ontario should harmonize with the federal reporting requirements under the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) (e.g., mandatory methods, Global Warming).
YES, Ontario should continue to require reporting of fuel distribution/supply reporting AS WELL as the provincial mandatory reporting of emissions. And there should be hugely increased restrictions on emissions from all fossil fuel sources.
This government seems to want to extract itself from any responsibility it has towards our country's commitment to reduce Greenhouse gas emissions with blatant disregard for human health.
