The new regulations are woefully inadequate and will not create the inclusive communities for which we are working. The proposed regulations leave the main force to a market-driven housing development sector, which will continue to drive prices up (and unrelated to actual costs).
The exclusion of rental housing stock from these proposed regulations is also especially disappointing as half of the city's residents are tenants and because these are the people with the lowest incomes..
This is not close to what community has called for over the past two decades.
