The only changes that should be made to endangered species legislation are to strengthen that legislation. We are in the midst of a biodiversity crisis and must do everything we can to protect all species - but particularly those that are at risk of imminent extinction due to human activities.
Yes, conservation sometimes imposes costs. But our children and grandchildren deserve to inherit a world rich with life, not scoured of everything for the short-term interests of industry.
