There should be no one left doubting the residual effects of the last century or two of the negative consequences of short term thinking when it comes to energy consumption and stewardship of natural resources.
The idea that nuclear waste can be safely contained for centuries and millennia to come in order to provide short term financial benefits to a few is not just folly, but hubris of the worst sort - as the fall does irreparable damage to humanity and the planet we depend on for survival.
Nuclear energy was never 'clean' or 'cheap' or 'safe' in the long term and has no place in Ontario's energy system. It should go the way of coal.
Thank you.
