Nuclear Emergency Plan Recomendations
Nuclear Emergencies in Ontario can occur from:
Infrastructure failure/ meltdown/ leaks
Terrorist/ Cyber attacks
Seismic activity (Darlington and Pickering nuclear power plants are built near/ on a seismic fault line.)
Improperly placed nuclear waste containers
(Aerial photos of Pickering nuclear power plant has nuclear waste containers located near the water's edge)
Heavy water bypass into Lake Ontario
( effluent pipe feeding into Lake)
Recommendations for Emergency Plan
Require Ministry of Environment drinking water requirements to include daily testing and monitoring of drinking water sources for radioactive materials supplied by Lakes hosting nuclear facilities
Abstinence from Nuclear Energy Plants
Replace existing nuclear facilities with solar power and wind turbines or utilize cheap new technology such as gyro magnetic repulsion turbines
