I would like to register my concerns with the nuclear power generating industry.
I am first against the use of nuclear generation stations and feel the benefits do not out way the catastrophic costs should they fail, which we have witnessed in Fukushima, Japan as well as Chernobyl. The cost of building, maintaining, re-furbishing and emergency preparedness would be better spent on green energy. Secondly, the emergency preparedness planning process needs to learn from the known nuclear disasters to safe guard Canadians from the same fate by implementing stronger regulations/safeguards and not bowing to the lobbying of the nuclear industry. Human rights before Corporate rights.
