Nuclear power, incompatible with (human) life, should have been abolished a long time ago. Most older reactors are approaching the end of their life span. When they were built in the 60s and 70s it was determined that they would be operational for about 40 years. With all the problems arising with with these plants extending their life spans is irresponsible. To believe that accidents can be prevented or contained is a pipe dream. Enough examples exist to show that this is simply not the case. If the Ontaio government is not prepared to put measures in place to deal with a possible major disaster, steps should be taken to find safe way to mothball these facilities and soon. Fukushima has been showing what can happen. The nuclear industry can and will not solve this problem.
