Dear Senka Krsikapa,
LG Electronics USA appreciates the opportunity to provide comments and supports the proposal to amend Ontario’s Energy and Water Efficiency Regulation under the Electricity Act, 1998 (ERO 013-4675).
We support amending the regulation to exclude ultra-high definition (UHD) 8K televisions from television on-mode requirements,
and allowing for battery chargers and external power supplies label (e.g. verification mark) to be placed either on the product or the product’s packaging.
LG Electronics USA is supportive of aligning regulations with those that already exist at the Federal level in Canada or in the U.S. and believe that province specific requirements are unnecessary.
Regards to UHD 8k televisions, we ask Ontario to expedite this amending process to make UHD 8k televisions available to consumers in Ontario.
We appreciate Ontario’s efforts to listen to the industry’s concerns and welcome the opportunity to work with any issues or concerns going forward.
Sincerely,
Tony Ye
