I am very much against nuclear power plants. Much too centralized and thus susceptible to terrorist attack
It is hopelessly optimistic to believe that a disaster on the scale of Fukushima could not happen here, in light of the fact that Mother Nature can toss tornadoes and earthquakes anywhere.
The risk is too great for potential disaster on a large scale.
The spent fuel rods pose a huge problem, since they remain dangerous for many many years. The expenses calculated must include the radioactive garbage we leave for future generations, even if nothing goes wrong. Nuclear reactors are irresponsible .........violating Fred Penner's primary rule for primary children .....of all the things you learn here, remember these the best, don't hurt each other and clean up your mess! We know of no way to safely clean up the mess of spent fuel rods, irregardless of optimistic claims to not worry about it
It seems the nuclear power lobby , for profit, disregards not only our safety but that of future generations
There are better ways to generate electricity with less risk. Let's avoid a potential disaster
