RE: City of Toronto OPA 405 Our association is on record as haviing supported this OPA during the City's hearings on the proposal leading up to City Council adoption of the OPA. Subject to the reservation noted below, we strongly support the densities, heights, and land use designations in the OPA. Even more, we support the integrated plans for new parks and other public inftrastructure necessary to cope with the additional population that will result from the development permitted by the OPA. Our major concern is the need for new schools and infrastructure that will be required. The area is already suffering from insufficient infrastructure and from the inability of the available schools to handle the children of famiilies moving into new condos. We are particularly concerned by the lack of transit capacity serving the area. The Yonge St subway is already operating at capacity. We have major concerns about how transit needs will be met before construction of the Relief Line North. We consequently urge that rezonings up to the limits permitted by OPA 405 be subject to a hold until their is a clear commitment to construction of the Relief Line North
