I am in favour of updating conservation transparency
However, I object to entering private land and issuing fines that are so high. I do not trust
Halton conservation infringement of individuals rights to handle this. The fees are too steep and
Where is the accountability. They are not a police
Force and they have abused their power in the past. Halton conservation has hidden agendas such as “giants rib” and want to make Burlington a parkland. Therefore by entering farmland and conservation saying an act has been broken
Will put the farm out of business. Many farms are corporations and penalties are 1 million dollars for an offence.
I have my patent crown grants for my property
And follow all rules according to OmAFRA with regards to farming. But how do I know if the rules of farming meets conservation Halton prescription of how I do things. As a farm owner
I am a steward of my land , past , present and future.
You are giving too much power to a branch that is not a police force and also at a time where we are fighting the Region official plan with regards to land expropriation by map designation.
This is a communist approach to law and land and this gives them more power unnecessarily when bylaws are already in place to handle offences.
This must not be allowed. I voted the PC government to stop this abuse and not further it. To help reduce red tape and not further add to the problems we face living on the fridge of an urban area.
Do not give Halton conservation authority to handle offences and entering private land.
Thank you
