I highly recommend that this regulation is amended to allow single occupant motorcycles to use the lanes.
It makes the 400 level highways with the HOV lanes safer for motorcyclist reducing the probability of collisions due to lane changes by unsuspecting motorists.
As a biker I always ride as if nobody knows I am on the road since despite awareness campaigns motorists are often not expecting a bike in their blind spot / vicinity. Since lane changing to or from an HOV is not as fluid as the other 3 lanes it makes operation of a motorcycles safer.
Also a small increment in volume on the HOV due to a few bikers would not in any way slow the lane down while drastically improving the safety and well-being of bikers.
I highly recommend that this amendment is carried forward and the regulation updated.
