Hello Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry,
I just wanted to share my opinion on the "Proposal to reduce the minimum distance requirement for placement of bait from rights of way and trails for black bear hunting". First off I think this proposal is not a good idea because it promotes lazy hunters and lazy hunting practices. I believe that the opportunity to bait black bears is great within the province of Ontario but it should come with a reasonable amount of effort on the hunters side. The current minimum distances are too short in my opinion and I really think this proposal of 30m is taking that to a whole new level. I would like to see all of the minimum distances from bait kept unaltered or even changed to 1km. I think that a minimum distance of 30m is just going to promote lazy hunters and lazy hunting practices. Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts on this proposal.
