Why would MNRF consider reducing the distance from a road for the purpose of bear baiting? Thirty meters from a road or trail is way too close to said road or trail. The potential for hunter/non-hunter interaction is greatly increased. In addition, the potential for human injury or death is greater from stray bullets and the increased liklihood of shooting a bear (by the baitor OR passing bear hunter) from, or across the travelled/trail which is currently illegal. In short, this is a ridiculous proposal.
