I strongly oppose this measure. The Local Planning Appeal Tribunals will basically return to their former structure as the OMB, putting developers needs before those of local residents. Developers will not have to abide by city planning guidelines and can just skip the decisions made at the local level. This is inappropriate. The only parties winning with this legislation are the developers who no doubt are lobbying / contributing to the Conservative party to make this happen. It's so sad when special interests / money win out over what's best at the local level. I didn't think we were living in the United States with its corruption and special interests but clearly with the Conservative government that is not the case.
